THE LEAD 

Magic Online All-Access Returns Next Monday!

One of our most popular promotions returns in a couple weeks – All-Access! It’s been almost a year since we last offered All-Access, so let’s bring new folks up to speed on how it works:

The Mythic Event Token will go on sale Monday morning, September 8 around 8 a.m. Pacific time (15:00 UTC). As usual it’ll cost $25 USD for access to almost all of the cards on MTGO between time of purchase and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23 – up to 15 days in all!

To use All-Access, simply purchase the Mythic Event Token in the Store, then build any legal deck in your chosen format. You will likely show negative quantities of cards in the Collection as you drag cards down – this is expected. You can try all Constructed formats with All-Access!

Once your deck is built the way you want it, enter an Open Play game or paid event (entry options still required). No cards will be added to your collection, but you'll be able to play even if you don't have all the cards in your collection.

As with previous All-Access periods, certain Premier Events will have an extra entry option of 2 Mythic Event Tokens. This represents a $15 savings compared to the combined cost of All-Access and a single Super Qualifier entry. Your account shouldn’t need more than two total Tokens during the All-Access period. When you spend the Tokens this way, the access remains on your account until the expiry time.

The two events offering the extra entry option are:

• Vintage Championship Week Finals – Saturday, September 20
• Vintage Super Qualifier – Sunday, September 21

We'll remove all Mythic Event Tokens from accounts and turn off All-Access at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23.

Note: If you’re still competing in a Constructed League when All-Access ends, you’ll be allowed to complete that match (not the entire course).

Just like previous All-Access periods, certain cards (Secret Lair versions, TRANSFORMERS, WARHAMMER 40,000, Battlebond, and old-frame Power Nine) are unavailable. Additionally, card variants sold in Bundles (Oil Lands, Retro Shocklands, etc.) are unavailable. Finally, All-Access doesn’t apply to Limited events.

MOCS Postseason Concludes This Weekend – Last Chance to Reach the Showcase!

We are down to the final weekend of qualification events for the next MOCS Showcase in October. If you haven’t punched your ticket into that elite 8-player event, your last chances to score an invitation will be in MOCS Showcase Opens this Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7!

Featuring Edge of Eternities Sealed Deck with a Top 8 Draft, this is your opportunity to spike a tournament for a big payoff! Entry Options are 40 Event Tickets or 400 Play Points and prizes are paid out to the Top 64 with EOE product.

In addition to reaching the Champions Showcase (with its $50,000 prize pool and two invitations to the 2026 World Championship), the winner of each Showcase Qualifier is invited to the Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed in January plus the set of Regional Championships in October-November feeding that event. Leaderboard Points are also on the line as players seek one of two At-Large invites at the end of the postseason.

The final batch of Leaderboard Points are up for grabs in the Opens, and when the weekend ends the two highest finishers on the Leaderboard snag At-Large invites to the Showcase. Just 5 players remain mathematically alive in this exciting race!

Our intrepid team of Digital Event Coordinators will also be on hand inside the game during the Opens to lend a hand if something goes awry. To contact a DEC, click the Chat button in the top-right corner of the Home Scene, choose Create/Join New Chat …, then type in #DEC and press Enter to join the room.For more information on these events, click the Premier Play Information link at the top of the Blog.

Vintage Championship Week Date Change

Our latest Format Championship event will now be held the week of September 15-20 – apologies for any inconvenience. This was the intended timeline all along, but incorrect dates were posted in our teaser item in the Edge of Eternities article.

Read All About It – Current Vintage Cube League Continues

It’s time for another round of Vintage Cube. This iteration features some new overarching themes involving old favorites as well as the debut of cards from Edge of Eternities. Creative Director Ryan Spain and Cube Curator Chris Wolf present the updated card list and archetypes in this article – be sure to give it a read before you start playing.

You can always find the most recent Vintage Cube card lists on this page.

This iteration of the League ends on Wednesday, September 17 at downtime.

YungDingo takes the reins Friday nights at 6 pm PT (01:00 Tuesday UTC) streaming at twitch.tv/magiconline.

There will be giveaways galore, including Play Point codes and his own unique in-game avatar!

MTGO Spellgrounds – Pioneer This Week, Vintage Next Week

Great news – our Spellgrounds project continues! Try out a slice of the current Pioneer metagame between Monday and Wednesday – all with sideboards geared specifically for this group – all for free!

You’ll encounter a Super-Jump style draft – 3 of the 6 decks are presented randomly for you to select one. Then play up to 3 matches without the pressure of prizes on the line.

ALTERNATE PLAY

Pack Wars! Duskmourn Continues

Attention Limited fans: We've taken a long-time favorite of Magic at big conventions and brought it into Magic Online. There are some who call it Mini-Master, but on MTGO it’s Pack Wars! This format is up and running and our current conflicted booster is Duskmourn: House of Horror.

There are two different flavors of Pack Wars events – both of which are Best-of-One formats: a Keeper Swiss League, and a 2-Player Phantom Queue.

Duskmourn’s events continue until next Wednesday, September 10. Our next Pack Wars format will be Kaldheim!

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and Through the Omenpaths. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC) unless otherwise noted.

• September 17-23 – Shred those packs and build the best you can in Tarkir: Dragonstorm Supreme Draft. (Phantom)
