THE LEAD

Congratulations to Season 2 MOCS Champion Guglielmo (Zompatanfo) Lupi

The 2025 Magic Online Championship Series Season 2 brought eight of the platform’s top players together for a weekend of high-stakes Cube drafting, Modern mastery, and a shot at $50,000 and two invitations to the 2026 Magic World Championship.

The competition began with Vintage Cube, where Thomas “McWinSauce” White’s Jeskai Control deck out-maneuvered Guglielmo “Zompatanfo” Lupi’s Izzet Aggro build to claim the first victory of the weekend to earn his World Invite. Tom’s tight sequencing and value plays carried him through the Cube rounds as one of the top seeds heading into Modern, but their story wasn’t over yet.

When the format shifted to Modern, both players came prepared with powerful archetypes that couldn’t have been more different: Guglielmo piloting Broodscale Bloodchief, and Tom bringing Izzet Affinity. Their finals rematch delivered fireworks a clash between raw power and blistering speed.

This time, Guglielmo turned the tables. His ramp strategy overpowered Tom’s artifact assault, closing out a thrilling series and earning the title of MOCS Season 2 Champion, securing the title and his Worlds invitation.

ALL THINGS CUBE

CubeCon 2025 – October 16-19

Magic Online is proud to partner with CubeCon, the world’s largest gathering of competitive Cube players. This year’s event will be held Thursday-Sunday, October 16-19 in Madison, Wisconsin. For ticket information as well as which Cubes will be played, visit cubecon.org.

For the third year in a row, MTGO will be providing digital prizes to players who finish in the Top 128 of the CubeCon Main Event, as well additional goodies for all CubeCon attendees! The Top 8 will draft a real-life version of MTGO’s Vintage Cube (not for keeps, though).

Vintage Cube League Continues

In one of the quicker turnarounds we’ve ever had, the Vintage Cube will be back again to support this weekend’s MOCS Showcase (see item above).

Check out the updated Cube commentary and changelist in this article. You can always find the most recent Vintage Cube card lists on this page.

The Draft Bundle itself is not tradeable nor are its contents. The Tokens expire when the Cube League ends on October 22, so be sure to use them all up (we’ll remove them at that time and they are non-refundable)!

There are two different flavors of Pack Wars events – both of which are Best-of-One formats: a Keeper Swiss League, and a 2-Player Phantom Queue.

Wilds of Eldraine runs until Wednesday, October 22, then another set will take over!

Get all the details in the Edge of Eternities set article!
