Vintage Cube League (Including the Bundle) Returns Next Week – Article This Friday

Check out Chris Wolf’s article this Friday for the latest list and archetype shake-ups with Reality Fracture!

The Vintage Cube League begins again next Wednesday, October 7, at 10 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC) with the usual entry options of 10 Event Tickets or 100 Play Points. Single-elimination play will switch over to the new iteration of the Cube at that time. You can always view the current Vintage Cube list on this page.

As usual, we will be offering a Vintage Cube Bundle for $27 USD starting next week. The Bundle includes 3 Vintage Cube Draft Tokens plus this set’s exclusive Bundle avatar – Liliana the Repentant!

PREMIER PLAY 

Eight RC Slots In Play This Weekend

Your next chance to reach the first Regional Championship round of 2027 comes up this weekend!

First, a Modern RC Super Qualifier begins this Saturday, October 3 at 7 a.m. PT (14:00 UTC).

Then on Sunday, October 4 at 7 a.m. PT, it’s the Limited RC Super Qualifier featuring the debut of Reality Fracture in Sealed Deck with Top 8 Draft

RC Super Qualifier events accept 40 Event Tickets, 400 Play Points, or 40 Season 3 Qualifier Points as entry options. Each tournament pays out prizes to the Top 128 and sends the Top 4 finishers to the January-February RC in their home regions.

EVENT UPDATES 

Pack Wars Modern Masters Starts Tomorrow

Pack Wars – the Magic Online space for Mini-Master – rolls on. Our meandering adventure across the multiverse continues with the original Modern anthology set.

The idea is simple – crack a pack, add 2 of each basic land, and play a game. In the Keeper League, you then crack another pack, edit your deck, play a game ... and keep going until you have opened 4 packs and played 4 games!

This Keeper League is easy – 4 packs + 4 games (plus prizes if you do well) for just 4 Event Tickets or 40 Play Points!

Duel Commander B&R – No Changes

The Duel Commander Committee has announced no changes in this month’s Banned and Restricted Window. Therefore, the new instance of the League begins today at 10 a.m. PT alongside the other Constructed Leagues. Unlike those, Duel Commander League will follow its normal cadence to the next B&R announcement on Monday, November 30.

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT unless otherwise noted.

• September 29-October 7: Reality Fracture Limited is front and center for this week.
• October 7-November 4 – Vintage Cube is back with updates from the newest set. (Phantom)
• October 28-November 4 – Our annual Halloween week gets a twist – Supreme Innistrad Remastered Draft. (Phantom)
  • This will overlap with Vintage Cube
• November 4-10 – The tentative plan is to have a Premodern-era Keeper draft, but we are still sifting through which ones we haven’t recently run could be the best option ...

Powered-Up Treasure Chests

For the first time, Treasure Chests will contain part of the Power Nine! The Vintage Masters edition of Mox Sapphire will be included in this iteration of the Chest that runs over the next several weeks. WARHAMMER 40,000 Commander Decks Available Now!

The WARHAMMER 40,000 Commander Decks are back! For a limited time, they are again on offer in the Magic Online Store. They are:

• Forces of the Imperium (white-blue-black)
• The Ruinous Powers (blue-red-black)
• Tyranid Swarm (blue-red-green)
• Necron Dynasties (mono-black)

Each deck sells for $39.99 USD. Once purchased, the cards become part of your Magic Online collection for use in Legacy (#poxwalkers), Vintage, Commander, and Freeform formats. 

Cards in these decks will not be made available in Treasure Chests. The decks are only available again until the end of 2026 – be sure you don’t miss out!

Redemption Corner

Reality Fracture redemption tokens are slated to go on sale Wednesday, October 21.

Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes and Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™ are not redeemable.

TODAY'S PATCH NOTES – September 29, 2026

Card Fixes

• Etched Slith will allow its controller to remove an energy counter (reminder – click the player’s avatar to remove the counter)
• Kami of Jealous Thirst’s activated ability will function when you have drawn three or more cards in a turn.
• The prompt text for Mystic Remora’s pay-4 trigger will appear correctly for opponents.

Client

• Some cards that were not indicating what the opponent revealed will show those details properly. These include:
  • Karn, the Great Creator
  • Burning Wish
  • Cabal Therapy
  • Addle
• Clicking on a carousel ad while the game is loading will no longer cause the game client to crash.

Events

• The Commander Gauntlet New Player event will feature the five new Foundations Commander
