The next set is here – click this link to read everything there is to know about Through the Omenpaths, which debuts on Magic Online today at 10 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC). Highlights include:

• Premium Land Bundles: Three full colors of bling stand out inside each 74-card, all-premium boxed set!
  • Every three-color combo has its own bundle containing:
    • 10 of each in-color land type: liquid-gold rimmed Unsanctioned basic lands
    • 10 of each in-color land type: foil Unstable full-art basics

Note: We changed one of our Release Weeks events to be an 8-Player, Pick-1 Phantom Elimination Draft instead of a 4-Player, Pick-2 version.

All-Access Ends Today

If you purchased the Mythic Event Token to enable All-Access over the last two weeks, your time is just about up. We’ll be shutting off All-Access today at 9 a.m. PT (16:00 UTC). If you’re still competing in a Constructed event when All-Access ends, you’ll be allowed to complete that match (not the entire course).

Vintage Cube League Returns Next Week

In one of the quicker turnarounds we’ve ever had, the Vintage Cube will be back again starting next Wednesday, October 1. This time it will be to support the upcoming MOCS Showcase which will air Sunday, October 12, as well as the Vintage vs. Type 1 charity fundraiser that culminates October 4-5.

CubeCon 2025 – October 16-19

Magic Online is proud to partner with CubeCon, the world’s largest gathering of competitive Cube players. This year’s event will be held Thursday-Sunday, October 16-19 in Madison, Wisconsin. For ticket information as well as which Cubes will be played, visit cubecon.org.

For the third year in a row, MTGO will be providing digital prizes to players who finish in the Top 128 of the CubeCon Main Event, as well additional goodies for all CubeCon attendees! The Top 8 will draft a real-life version of MTGO’s Vintage Cube (not for keeps, though).

The CubeCon community will also get to vote on a Cube to be featured in MTGO for a week in November – more details on that in future weeks.

MTGO BROADCASTS

Vintage vs. Type 1 Fundraiser – Article This Friday, Streams October 4-5

Magic Online is pleased to again be part of a fundraiser for Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) hosted by Magic luminary Brian David-Marshall. A number of Brian’s friends will be competing in a Vintage Cube trophy race the first few days of October on their own streams.

Then MTGO.com will host a 2-day stream featuring some super-secret guest stars, and you’ll be able to turn donations into free Vintage Cube Drafts, exclusive avatars, or even turn on All-Access for a week! The community raised over $17,000 in last year’s event, so we’re looking to better that record on Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5.

We’ll have full info in an article this Friday on MTGO.com - keep an eye out for it!

Catch YungDingo Streaming on Fridays

Magic Online is pleased to bring you weekly streams from some of our top creators. We’ve teamed up with YungDingo to show off MTGO at a regular time each week.

YungDingo takes the reins Friday nights at 6 pm PT (01:00 Saturday UTC) streaming at twitch.tv/magiconline.

There will be giveaways galore, including Play Point codes and his own unique in-game avatar!

PREMIER PLAY

Two EOE Limited RC Super Qualifiers This Weekend

Edge of Eternities gets extra chances to shine and send eight more players to next year’s first round of tabletop Regional Championships! MTGO has two Limited RC Super Qualifiers this weekend at special times:

• Saturday, September 27 at 2 p.m. PT (21:00 UTC)
• Sunday, September 28 at 3 a.m. PT (10:00 UTC)

It takes 40 Event Tickets, 400 Play Points or 40 Season 3 Qualifier Points to enter a Super Qualifier. The Top 4 finishers are invited to the first Regional Championship round of 2026 in January-February, and prizes pay down to the Top 128!

ALTERNATE PLAY

Pack Wars! Strixhaven Begins Tomorrow

Attention Limited fans: We've taken a long-time favorite of Magic at big conventions and brought it into Magic Online. There are some who call it Mini-Master, but on MTGO it’s Pack Wars! This format is up and running and our next set in the spotlight are the hallowed halls of Strixhaven: School of Mages.

There are two different flavors of Pack Wars events – both of which are Best-of-One formats: a Keeper Swiss League, and a 2-Player Phantom Queue.

Strixhaven runs until Wednesday, October 8, then a new set will be announced!

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and Through the Omenpaths. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC) unless otherwise noted.

• Now-October 1: The experimental Pick-Two format of Through the Omenpaths will be center stage for this week.
• October 1-22 – These are the weeks where the Vintage Cube League returns to support the next MOCS Showcase broadcast on Sunday, October 12! (Phantom)
• October 22-November 18 – Season of the Cube! See above for general info – exact details will be available in mid-October. (Phantom)

Redemption Corner

Edge of Eternities redemption tokens are now on sale! Check out our Redemption page for full program rules and inventory levels. As a reminder, the game itself is the most current place to determine if there is stock remaining for Redemption Tokens.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm regular redemptions remain on sale in the MTGO Store, though foil-for-regular have sold out.

Aetherdrift redemptions have now sold out.

MTGO University Is Now MTGO TV!

We are making some small changes to our University channel. Don't worry, it isn't going away, we are just adding more to it.

We’ve introduced a brand-new landing spot for everything related to getting your new-to-MTGO friends up to speed on playing our game – MTGO TV! Whether you’re new to a specific format, new to Magic Online, or are just curious about what this version of MTG is all about, check out the MTGO University playlists on YouTube.

In addition, we will be featuring other content from our creators here, including new shows and previous Creator Showdowns.

Card Fixes

• Archfiend of Depravity will no longer cause a game reset if an opponent decides to sacrifice their remaining two creatures.
• Beamtown Bullies will send creature cards to the exile zone instead of exiling them under itself.
• Hallowed Moonlight and Mistcaller will correctly keep Living End & Living Death from returning creatures to the battlefield.
• City of Traitors will correctly be sacrificed if the land side of a double-faced card is played.

The next scheduled maintenance is Wednesday, November 12 from 9 a.m. to noon PT (16:00-19:00 UTC). This is to support the release of Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender.
