The first Magic Online expansion of 2026 takes us back to the pastoral plane of light and shadow. Lorwyn Eclipsed hits our virtual shelves today at 10 a.m. PT (18:00 UTC)! Check out this article for details on what’s happening:

Vintage Cube League Returns Next Week

The next round of Vintage Cube League will be back soon for another four-week run – specifically, next Wednesday, January 28!

PREMIER PLAY

Eight More RC Invites Up for Grabs This Weekend

Qualifying for the April-May tabletop Regional Championship round continues this weekend with two more 4-slot Super Qualifiers. It’s your first chance to incorporate Lorwyn Eclipsed cards at the Premier level!

First, a Modern RC Super Qualifier is slated for this Saturday, January 24 at a special time of 1 a.m. PT (9:00 UTC). 

Then on Sunday, January 25, a Vintage RC Super Qualifier gets underway at 7 a.m. PT (15:00 UTC).

Each of these Super Qualifier tournaments accepts 40 Event Tickets, 400 Play Points, or 40 Season 1 Qualifier Points to enter. The Top 4 finishers in each event get invited to the April-May RC round and prizes extend down to 128^th place!

EVENT UPDATES

Premodern Event Updates

A few notes for Premodern fans:

• The League changes over today, and at that time we will apply the change to the Ban list – Parallax Tide is getting the boot.
• That new League will only last until our next downtime on February 25. That’s because ...
• We can now confirm that Premodern will have its own non-Contraption rooms in the client under Specialty following that downtime. The community has really shown up for this format and we are pleased to give it a dedicated space!

Challenge Time Tweaks Thursdays

We will be re-jiggering the Challenge schedule on Thursdays to alleviate a conflict with Vintage and Premodern starting this week.

• Phantom Sealed Trial moves up 3 hours to 9 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC)
• Premodern moves back 1 hour to 10 a.m. PT (18:00 UTC)
• Pauper moves back 1 hour to 12 noon PT (20:00 UTC)

Pack Wars! Phyrexia: All Will Be One Begins Tomorrow

Attention Limited fans: We've taken a long-time favorite of Magic at big conventions and brought it into Magic Online. There are some who call it Mini-Master, but on Magic Online it’s Pack Wars!

 Phyrexia: All Will Be One takes over for two weeks starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT.

There are two different flavors of Pack Wars events – both of which are Best-of-One formats: a Keeper Swiss League, and a 2-Player Phantom Queue.

Redemption Corner

Check out our Redemption page for full program rules and inventory levels (updated weekly). As a reminder, the game itself is the most current place to determine if there is stock remaining for Redemption Tokens.

Lorwyn Eclipsed redemption tokens are planned to go on sale Wednesday, February 11.

Edge of Eternities redemption tokens have sold out, both regular and foil-for-regular!

Outlaws of Thunder Junction foils-for-regular remain available in small quantities.

Through the Omenpaths and Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender are not redeemable sets.

TODAY’S PATCH NOTES – January 20, 2026

Duel Scene

• A rare situation causing Old-Growth Troll to cause a game to reset has been addressed.
• Circular Logic will correctly handle prompting for payments of 10 or more mana.
• Harmonize abilities will correctly disallow tapping the cost-reducing creature for mana.
• When searching an opponent’s library via Opposition Agent or Mindslaver effects, you will correctly be allowed to fail to find when possible.
• Everywhere tokens and Planar Nexus will correctly handle the method of how they gain all land types.

The next scheduled maintenance is Wednesday, February 25 from 9 a.m. to noon PT (17:00-20:00 UTC). This is to support the release of Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
