Magic Online All-Access Returns Tomorrow!

One of our most popular promotions returns tomorrow – All-Access!

The Mythic Event Token will go on sale Wednesday morning, December 17 around 8 a.m. Pacific time (16:00 UTC). As usual it’ll cost $25 USD for access to almost all of the cards on Magic Online between time of purchase and 10 a.m. on Friday, January 2 – up to 16 days in all!

MOCS Postseason Concludes This Weekend – Last Chance to Reach the Showcase!

We are down to the final weekend of qualification events for the next MOCS Showcase in January. If you haven’t punched your ticket into that elite 8-player event, your last chances to score an invitation will be in MOCS Showcase Opens this Saturday and Sunday, December 20-21!

Featuring Magic: The Gathering® | Avatar: The Last Airbender™ Sealed Deck with a Top 8 Draft, this is your opportunity to spike a tournament for a big payoff! Entry Options are 40 Event Tickets or 400 Play Points and prizes are paid out to the Top 64.

In addition to reaching the Champions Showcase (with its $50,000 prize pool and two invitations to the 2026 World Championship), the winner of each Showcase Qualifier is invited to the Pro Tour Secrets of Strixhaven in May plus the set of Regional Championships in January-March feeding that event.

The final batch of Leaderboard Points are up for grabs in the Opens, and when the weekend ends the two highest finishers on the Leaderboard snag At-Large invites to the Showcase.

Our intrepid team of Digital Event Coordinators will also be on hand inside the game during the Opens to lend a hand if something goes awry. To contact a DEC, click the Chat button in the top-right corner of the Home Scene, choose Create/Join New Chat …, then type in #DEC and press Enter to join the room.

ALL THINGS CUBE

Preview League - 1 Day Remaining

The Free Vintage Cube Preview League continues until tomorrow, December 17 at 5 a.m. PT (13:00 UTC).

In order to enter the League, you’ll need to get yourself Draft Points. How do you acquire those? Enter the code 2025HOLIDAYS into the box in the Magic Online Store, just as shown below.

You can only redeem the code once on your account, but you will receive 2 Draft Points. Spend one of them to enter the draft queue, then play up to three single games with your Phantom draft deck. Then repeat this process once.

Win just one of those six total games and you’ll receive this event’s only prize - a special avatar featuring Toucan-Puffin!

EVENT UPDATES

Contraption’s Debut with Premodern – First Challenges This Thursday

The newest Magic Online format is Contraption: a space for us to experiment with rulesets and community formats. First up is Premodern – the fan format that spans Fourth Edition through Scourge! Connoisseurs of the classic card frame should give this a spin.

Check out our article introducing Contraption and Premodern. The first League to showcase the format, the Friendly League, concludes tomorrow. Once that ends, we’ll kick off a two-week Holiday League aided by All-Access.

We’re also going to ease into running some Premodern Challenges – the first batch will be held Thursday, December 18 at the following times:

• 1 a.m. PT (9:00 UTC/18:00 JST)
• 9 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC)
• 4 p.m. PT (midnight Friday UTC/7 a.m. Friday JST)

These will be the only Premodern Challenges offered through this weekend, but we will look to find other time slots to try out over the Holiday period. More details will be in next week’s Blog, or follow our Discord for live updates.

Pack Wars! Streets of New Capenna – One Week Only

Attention Limited fans: We've taken a long-time favorite of Magic at big conventions and brought it into Magic Online. There are some who call it Mini-Master, but on Magic Online it’s Pack Wars!

Tomorrow, Streets of New Capenna will take over for a single-week engagement. After that, Zendikar Rising takes the spotlight on December 24.

There are two different flavors of Pack Wars events – both of which are Best-of-One formats: a Keeper Swiss League, and a 2-Player Phantom Queue.

Redemption Corner

Check out our Redemption page for full program rules and inventory levels (updated weekly). As a reminder, the game itself is the most current place to determine if there is stock remaining for Redemption Tokens.

Edge of Eternities redemption tokens are on sale, but inventory is beginning to run low. EOE regular sets are down to their last 15%.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm is now completely out of stock. Outlaws of Thunder Junction foils-for-regular remain available in small quantities.

Note: Orders submitted after December 22^nd will be delayed up to one week due to Daybreak’s winter break.

Through the Omenpaths and Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender are not redeemable sets.

PATCH NOTES – Tomorrow, December 17

Premodern Card Fixes

• Volrath’s Shapeshifter has been reimplemented. (#squashalltheVSbugsatonce)
• Sirocco has been reimplemented. (Hotfixed last week)
• Bane of the Living will display the value of X on the stack.
• Library of Leng’s replacement will correctly not apply to cards discarded as part of a cost (cycling, etc).
• For modal abilities, Always Yield to Triggered Abilities will advise that the same mode will always be chosen.

Duel Scene

• Agatha’s Soul Cauldron will correctly grant Dryad Arbor’s mana ability to eligible creatures.
• When multiple cards are milled at once, that player will be prompted to choose the graveyard order of those cards.
• The OK hotkey (default as the 1 key) will apply when a Done button appears in the prompt box.

NEXT SCHEDULED DOWNTIME – January 14, 9 a.m.-Noon

After tomorrow, the next scheduled maintenance is Wednesday, January 14 from 9 a.m. to noon PT (17:00-20:00 UTC). This is to support the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed.
