Marvel Set Articles This Friday and Next Tuesday 

The arrival of some of the greatest comic book super heroes of all time to Magic Online is nearly here! Watch for these upcoming set articles: 

• Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel's Spider-Man: Article this Friday, June 12, on sale following downtime next Tuesday, June 16.
• Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Article next Tuesday, June 16, on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, June 23. 

Congratulations Brady Munroe, 2026 Season 1 MOCS Showcase Champion!  

Eight of Magic Online’s top competitors gathered this weekend to earn their share of $50,000 and two invitations to the 2026 World Championship. In the end, it was einstein9988, Brady Munroe, who emerged victorious!  

The day began with Vintage Cube, and Brady was the top performer. The American player ran an aggressive Boros build featuring a heavy tokens theme, a stabilizer in The One Ring, and a finisher in Gut, True Soul Zealot. His opponent in the pod finals was China’s Jiao HongChen, who sported a Selesnya deck splashing heavy hitter Otharri, Suns’ Glory. Brady swept both games to lock up a seat in the Championship round. 

In the Modern rounds, the Worlds slot was contested between this season's two Limited champions – Sweden's Andreas Eklund and Chris Ellis from the United States. Chris took the combo route with Broodscale Combo, while Andreas wielded Boros Energy. In the end, it was no Phalge, no problem as Andreas swept the match and claimed the second Championship spot.  

The final face-off saw the energy deck face off against Brady’s more classic Eldrazi Tron. 

In the end, the power of multiversal monsters was too strong, and Brady emerged as the Showcase Champion!  

Brady took home $13,000 as Champion, while Andreas earned $11,000. Both players will appear at the Magic World Championship later this year!

Vintage Supreme Draft Until June 16 Downtime 

Vintage Supreme Draft is back again! It runs until the upcoming downtime on Tuesday, June 16. 

Our resident Cubemeister Chris Wolf has updated this format, adding new cards to explore the highest reaches of the power curve. You can check out his article and the full list on this page. 

The normal Cube League entry options – 10 Event Tickets or 100 Play Points – and prize structures apply.

Last Day: Free-Play Pride Celebration League - Exclusive Avatar & Format 

For the first time, Magic Online is featuring an event celebrating Pride Month! Our team has mashed up the Strixhaven sets in a novel Phantom Sealed format – 4 packs of Strixhaven: School of Mages and 4 packs of Secrets of Strixhaven! Play up to four single-game matches with this card pool.

How do you join the League? Input the code STRIXHAVEN26 into the MTGO Store to receive 2 Limited Points – that's the item you spend to join the League – and an untradeable, premium-treatment Transcendent Archaic avatar!

Each account can input the code just once, so you can do two total courses in this League. There are no additional prizes in the League – it's just for fun!

The Pride Celebration League closes for new entries on Wednesday, June 10, at 10 a.m.

Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Beta Begins Friday – Sign Up Today! 

Want to help us squish bugs and test card functionality while getting a first look at the newest set? MTGO’s Closed Beta Program is just the place! Our normal Cardset betas involve playing a selection of complicated cards against a curated set of wordy and weird cards from MTGO’s history. A Sealed Deck League will be available, and Commander games are encouraged.

To apply for the program, submit a ticket at help.mtgo.com - choose Apply to Beta Program as the subject, fill out the form, and agree to the Terms. If you're admitted to the Program, you will be invited to join us for the Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Beta round starting this Friday, June 12. 

Save The Date – All-Access Returns July 1 

Here’s an early heads-up: Our popular All-Access promotion returns for the first two weeks in July, just in time for those testing for the Modern rounds at Pro Tour Amsterdam next month! 

As usual, the Mythic Event Token will cost $25 and access runs from the time of purchase until Wednesday, July 15. 

We’ll provide finer details at the end of this month. 

Five-Minute Modern in Contraption

The newest experimental format on Magic Online, Five-Minute Modern, continues this week in Contraption! You can find the League and open-play rooms under Constructed -> Specialty.  

Check out our article for full details. The rules are simple: 

• Best-of-One, 5-minute timers for each player
• Modern format with a few extra bans
• No access to sideboards

The League has 6 single-game rounds for either 6 Event Tickets or 60 Play Points, and prizes start after the third win in a course. Enjoy! 

PREMIER PLAY

RC Invites at Stake Friday

More seats for the next round of tabletop Regional Championships are at stake this weekend! We’ll have a Limited RC Qualifier that kicks off this Friday, June  12, at 7 a.m. PT (14:00 UTC)! This event will feature Secrets of Strixhaven Sealed Deck with a Top 8 Draft.

It takes 40 Season 2 Qualifier Points to join this event. The Top 2 finishers earn seats at the RC, and prizes go down to 64^th place.

Showcase Challenge Weekend

MOCS Season 2 rolls on, so it’s time to qualify more players for the next round of Showcase Qualifiers in July and August. 

It takes 40 Season 2 Qualifier Points to enter a Showcase Challenge. The Top 8 finishers in each event earn a Championship Entry Token for the event’s format, plus earn Leaderboard Points toward an At-Large berth in the next Showcase!

EVENT UPDATES 

Pack Wars – Scars of Mirrodin Block

Pack Wars – the Magic Online space for Mini-Master – rolls on. Our meandering adventure across the multiverse continues with a return trip to New Phyrexia. The idea is simple – crack a pack, add 2 of each basic land, and play a game. In the Keeper League, you then crack another pack, edit your deck, play a game ... and keep going until you have opened 4 packs and played 4 games!

For this iteration of Pack Wars, your first booster will be New Phyrexia, followed by Scars of Mirrodin, Mirrodin Besieged, and then another New Phyrexia before the final game.

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and the next set release in June. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT unless otherwise noted.

• June 3-16 – Vintage Supreme Draft returns for two weeks – the pick-2-and-toss-em format with a custom setup (including duplicates for key archetypes). This will be updated with new cards, unlike the last run. (Phantom)
• June 8-9 – Our first-ever Pride Celebration event combines the two Strixhaven sets in a free-to-play League – see details in The Lead above. (Phantom)
• June 16-23 – We'll close out SOS season and lead up to Magic Online’s 24^th birthday by bringing back the original favorite draft format: Invasion Block Draft! (Keeper – yes, really!)

Redemption Corner

We have a fix for the underlying redemption issue targeted for this week. Once the fix is live, we will turn redemption back on with an updated inventory of SOS and ECL redemption tokens. We apologize for the delay on orders processed last Tuesday - we expect to have those in transit sometime later this week.

NEXT SCHEDULED DOWNTIME – June 16, 9 a.m.-Noon

The next scheduled maintenance is now Tuesday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to noon PT (16:00-19:00 UTC). This is to support the release of both Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel's Spider-Man (immdiately following downtime) and Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes (June 23).
