Supreme Overhaul 2.0

Posted on May 29, 2026

Greetings, Cube enthusiasts! We are back with another rendition of Magic Online Vintage Supreme Draft. We learned a lot from our two previous runs of this new and exciting project and are here to introduce you to the changes we made. We covered the basics of what you can expect from this format in our initial article, which will give you the context for the decisions we made for this update.

What Changed?

Originally, this was conceived and tested as a singleton format but given the size of Cube required, some archetypes didn’t have the card depth to be consistently viable relative to the others. We introduced duplicates into the Cube to shore up the shallow archetypes, especially green-based Bazaar of Baghdad decks. Without some duplicate support to allow Bazaar to function reliably, green gets relegated as a splash for things like Oath of Druids or Collector Ouphe.

As we updated the Cube with duplicates, we doubled up on more than just cards from the thin archetypes, we also doubled certain core cards we felt would benefit the fun of the format by showing up twice as often. While those doublings help the reliability and fun factor of the decks they are in, it gave them a boost that hurt the effort to get the green strategies to be able to hang with the rest. To address this issue, we went back into our testing lab and redesigned the other strategies while tripling up on a select few cards to help out green Bazaar of Baghdad decks even more.

Dark Ritual Collector Ouphe Bazaar of Baghdad Atraxa, Grand Unifier

Dark Ritual gets a third copy to support the disruptive mono-black and storm decks. As mentioned earlier, Collector Ouphe and Bazaar of Baghdad are the focal points for green decks in this format and we would love for everything to be competitive. Similarly, Atraxa is the centerpiece for all creature-cheating strategies, so we figured a third copy was fair to add.

Survival of the Fittest

Nadu, Winged Wisdom Nomads en-Kor Shuko
OUT: Nadu, Winged Wisdom, Nomads en-Kor, and Shuko

Nadu Combo, one of the original Vintage Supreme Draft archetypes, simply did not translate to the new environment at all, which is why we are cutting it from this iteration.

Survival of the Fittest Vengevine

The main goal of the redesign that came from our testing efforts was to home in on the core strategy of any given archetype and make that as consistent as possible, which is why we are adding Survival of the Fittest to the already existing Bazaar of Baghdad package. If you’re wondering how that works, check out this video from our creator alumni and Vintage expert Justin “IamActuallyLvL1” Gennari and draft accordingly:

Just a Tune-Up

It has been a fun challenge to craft a Cube with Supreme Draft in mind. The first iteration was a big success compared to simply dropping the Magic Online Vintage Cube into a Draft with Supreme rules, and we feel this update is another leap forward in Supreme fun.
