The world’s largest trading card game boldly goes deep into the six-decade lore of exploring the galaxies! Magic: The Gathering® | Star Trek™ (set code TRK) debuts on Magic Online next Tuesday, November 10 at 10 a.m. Pacific time (18:00 UTC)!   

The downtime to add this set to Magic Online will be longer than usual and will take place this Wednesday, November 4, from 6 a.m. to approximately 12 noon Pacific time (14:00-20:00 UTC). Be sure to follow our social media outlets (Discord, BlueSky and more) to keep real-time tabs on this release, including adjustments to Scheduled Events. 

Features of the next two months include a suite of premium avatars available in Premium Boosters, our annual Holidays celebration in December, and some more quality-of-life improvements

Play Boosters

Each TRK Play Booster will sell for $3.99 USD in the Magic Online Store starting on Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT and contains 1-4 rare/mythics.  

For this set, the composition is: 

• 7 regular commons 
  • 1 in 25 boosters will swap a common out for a Stardates series mythic 
• 3 regular uncommons 
  • 1 of these uncommon slots can contain a Booster Fun version 
• 1 regular rare or mythic 
• 1 regular wildcard – that is, a non-foil of any rarity 
• 1 foil wildcard – a foil in every pack! 
• 1 land – tap-dual, or a basic land (regular frame, Holodeck, or Away Team) – in either regular or foil 

Premium Boosters 

The Magic Online-exclusive Premium Booster is back and better than ever! 

The 11-card TRK Premium Booster will sell for $6.99 USD in the Store starting next Tuesday. Here’s the layout – each Premium booster contains at least 5 rares/mythics and at least 8 foils: 

• 2 foil uncommons 
• 2 foil commons 
• 1 foil Booster Fun common or uncommon 
• 1 foil full-art Away Team or Holodeck basic land 
• 1 foil rare/mythic - main set (regular frame) 
• 1 regular alt-border Commander rare-mythic 
  • Extended Art or Borderless 
• 1 Stardates series mythic 
  • Borderless, either regular or foil 
• 1 regular Booster Fun rare/mythic 
  • Main set – Borderless, Extended Art, LCARS Frame, Classic Enterprise, Scene Cards, and Klingon Frame

For the first time, Premium Boosters also include a slot for premium, tradeable player avatars that are exclusive to this product!

TRK Draft Bundle 

Our Draft Bundle returns with Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek. 

Thie general idea is “Buy 3, Pay Less” – plus get an avatar! The Draft Bundle will sell for $32.00 USD in the MTGO Store starting next Tuesday. That represents a $4 savings off buying Event Tickets to cover those events.  

The Draft Bundle contains three Draft Entry Tokens which can be used to enter the normal TRK Draft League during its first three weeks, plus this set’s avatar exclusive to this product: Captain Benjamin Sisko! 

Neither the Bundle nor its contents are tradeable. 

• Events: These Tokens are only for the regular Draft League, not for the Launch League (see Event Updates below) nor single elimination.
• Expiration: Draft Entry Tokens must be used in the first three weeks of League play – they expire Wednesday, December 2 at 10 a.m. PT. Unused Tokens will be removed at that time and are non-refundable! 
  • The Bundle will leave the store on Tuesday, December 1. 

Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander 

This set has four new Commander decks for you to enjoy (set code TRC)!  

Each deck features 33 brand-new cards – over 130 total across the entire set – plus a suite of reprints. The decks will sell for $39.99 USD each in the Store starting next Tuesday. They are:

Premium Effects – Beam Me Up 

We've upped our premium effects game with this set! See some of your favorite characters beam aboard on Classic Enterprise Frame foil cards as well as in the special avatars found in the Premium Booster. Collect all 16 of these special editions! 

Quality-of-Life Updates 

Stack All Button 

A longtime request from our fans has been to be able to auto-stack all pending triggers. We've made some incremental improvements in this area by introducing a Stack All button to the prompt box! 

As long as none of those triggers require targets or choices and you don't care in what order they resolve, just press Stack All to move them en masse. 

Modal Conformity 

It will be easy to tell when you face a dilemma in this set with our new way to work through modal choices. Each time a modal choice is required from you (abilities or effects with bullet points in the text box), a pop-up box will appear. This is either when a modal trigger will be put onto the stack, or when you cast a spell like Mystic Confluence. 

A few rare cases exist where a random choice is made on a modal ability. For cards like Outlaws' Merriment, the random choice will be revealed once the trigger moves to the stack. 

Event Updates 

TRK Launch League Starts Next Tuesday 

To celebrate the release of this set as well as this week's Magic World Championship 32 tournament in Atlanta, Magic Online is hosting a special TRK Launch Draft League next week. 

This Draft League will run from Tuesday-Saturday, November 10-14 and feature a higher-entry, higher-payout structure. Entry options are 20 Event Tickets or 200 Play Points, and prizes are as follows: 

• 3-0 – 200 Play Points, 7 TRK Play Boosters, and 3 Season 3 MOCS Qualifier Points 
• 2-1 – 100 Play Points, 3 TRK Play Boosters, and 1 Season 3 MOCS QP 

The normal Draft League, Competitive Sealed League, and Friendly Sealed League will begin next Tuesday as is customary. Information on these events can be found here. 

Holidays Festival 2026 Begins December 9 

Our annual Holidays celebration will begin in earnest on Wednesday, December 9th! We'll provide full details in a few weeks on everything happening during the end of 2026 and the start of 2027 on Magic Online. 

Alternate Play Schedule 

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and Nauctis in early February. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT unless otherwise noted.  

• November 4-10 – Our throwback to old draft formats continues with Odyssey Block Draft. (Keeper) 

• November 10-25 – Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek™ Limited will be front and center for these two weeks. 

• November 25-December 9 – Our annual return of the No-Holds-Barred Vintage Cube: power to the max! (Phantom) 

• December 9-January 13 – A holidays-sized helping of Vintage Cube League with the goodies from this set added. (Phantom) 

• • This will also be the Limited format for our next MOCS Showcase on January 17th. 

• January 13-27 – Vintage Supreme Draft is back – the pick-two-and-toss-’em format with an updated list from earlier this year. (Phantom) 

• January 27-February 2 – We're still debating what we’ll offer in the week leading up to Nauctis. 

Commander Corner 

Commander Backlog Update 

We have made additional progress against our Commander Backlog. These cards will be available via Treasure Chests when they rotate around 10 a.m. PT next Tuesday. Both cards will be normal-frame versions. 

Magic Online Players Rewards (MOPR) Update 

Here’s what is on deck for MOPR. 

The grant on Tuesday, December 1 covers November activity. It will consist of non-foil and foil versions of the uncommon Scene cards found in boosters 

The next grant on Monday, January 5 covers December play and spend. It will consist of promo versions of the 12 cards downshifted to common back in September, including the two that were pre-banned in Pauper but are usable elsewhere. 

Finally, we'll determine the pool of cards to grant in February for January activity after the turn of the new year.

Treasure Chest Update 

Treasure Chests will update when TRK goes on sale next Tuesday – be sure to watch our Twitter/X (@MagicOnline) and our Discord channel to confirm this before opening Chests.

After next Tuesday, the next Treasure Chest update will occur at downtime on Wednesday, December 9.  

Avatars 

Here are the rest of the avatars for this set: 

New accounts created between next Tuesday and February 2 will receive the Tribble avatar. 

In addition to the Sisko avatar mentioned earlier for the TRK Draft Bundle, we will have another pair of avatars for Vintage Cube Bundles later this season 

• Captain Kathryn Janeway will feature in our No-Holds-Barred Bundle starting Wednesday, November 25. 
• Captain Jean-Luc Picard will be in the Holidays version of the Vintage Cube Bundle starting December 9. 

Then it’s time to bestow some Prestige! As usual, you get five points for each Competitive trophy you earn in Leagues and one for each Friendly trophy. At the end of the season (when Nauctis releases), you'll earn every avatar for which you qualify. 

The avatars in this group are premium upgrades to the versions mentioned above. 

For earning at least five points, you get the uncommon Captain Kathryn Janeway avatar (same as No-Holds-Barred Bundle), but with the new Liquid Silver frame.  

Get up to 20 points to also score the rare Captain Benjamin Sisko avatar (same as the Draft Bundle) with a Liquid Gold frame.  

Earning 40 points or more rewards you with the mythic rare Captain Jean-Luc Picard avatar (same as the Holiday Vintage Cube bundle) with the new Liquid Mythic Orange frame!
